The Vermont Unit is led by Dr. Donna Parrish, who oversees Unit operations. Dr. Therese Donovan is the Assistant Unit Leader, and Theresa Debarge provides administrative support for Unit activities.
Drs. Parrish and Donovan hold research faculty rank at the University of Vermont, teach graduate level courses, and oversee the Unit's research projects. Research projects typically support graduate students and post-docs and address a variety of topics, ranging from understanding the ecology of Lake Champlain and Connecticut River fishes to predicting the impacts of landuse change on Vermont's biodiversity. Research funds for the Vermont Unit come mainly from VTFWD, USFWS, USEPA, USDA, U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).
The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont is the home of the Vermont Unit. Unit offices are located in the newly renovated Aiken Center, next door to the Davis Student Center.
