Terri joined the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit in 2000, where she is the Assistant Unit Leader and Associate Research Professor in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont.

Donna is the Unit Leader of the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit and Research Professor in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont.

Theresa DeBarge Administrative Assistant

Theresa is the Unit secretary. Theresa is generally the first point of contact for all Unit activities. Theresa's specialties include shopping, fabulous home cooking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, Mason (a budding ball player) and Noelle.

Charlie Bettigole

Charlie received his B.A. in Environmental Studies with a focus in Conservation Biology from Middlebury College in 2005.  Since graduating, he has worked as a GIS analyst for a variety of conservation groups including The Wildlands Project and Two Countries, One Forest.  Charlie has lived the past few years in Portland, Oregon, but he is excited to be back in Vermont to work with Terri Donovan in the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Cooperative Research Unit.  He spends his free time climbing, hiking, fishing, paddling, and playing ultimate frisbee when its warm, and backcountry skiing and mountaineering in the snowier months.

Cori Brauer

Cori Brauer was born and raised in North Reading, MA. She studied Biology at Drew University where she discovered a fascination with animal behavior and communication in particular after completing an undergraduate thesis in ultrasonic communication in rats. She has worked as a lab assistant at the University of Vermont, as a nature camp counselor for Mass Audubon, and as a live-in intern at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Connecticut before becoming a student in the Coop Unit at the University of Vermont. Now she is studying ways of implementing automated acoustic units as a means of remotely monitoring amphibian populations.

Michelle Brown

Michelle Brown joined the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit in 2010. She also works part time as a Conservation Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, where she has worked since 2001. She currently resides in Saranac Lake, NY in the Adirondack Park. Michelle has a BS in Environmental Studies from Binghamton University and a Graduate GIS certificate from Penn State. In her spare time, Michelle heads for the woods on skis, snowshoes, bike, or canoe.

On top of Haleakala after I climbed 10,000 of those 10,023'.

Having grown up in the Vermont woods, I enjoy studying natural resource management and in my free time I enjoy soccer, outdoor sports, and spending time with my wife Lauren and our dog Bailey.

I moved to Vermont from Northern California, where I worked first on wildlife research projects and later as an environmental scientist monitoring water quality along the San Joaquin River.

I joined the Unit in the fall of 2009 a few years after receiving my MS from UVM. In the years leading up to 2009, I worked as an independent consultant and as a writer. When not working or spending time with my wife and kids, I try to get out hunting and fishing as much as possible.

Scott Schwenk

Postdoctoral research associate at UVM since 2008. Employed at U.S. EPA for 15 years (pesticide and research offices) prior to entering Ph.D. program at University of Vermont (UVM).
