Currently, the Virginia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit consists of two federal scientists, an unit administrator, 12 graduate students and 1 post-doctoral researcher along with numerous "cooperating" faculty and graduate students whom work in association with the unit and its projects.

I have been unit leader since August 2010. Prior to coming to USGS and Virginia Tech, I held R&D positions with the U.S. Army Engineer Research Development Center, the U.S. Forest Service Northern Research Station and Westvaco Forest Resources.
