Virginia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit

Virginia northern flying squirrel (Glaucomys sabrinus fuscus), an endangered species that occurs in red spruce (Picea rubens) dominated forests in West Virginia and Virginia.

Welcome to the Virginia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Our unit is a vibrant and intergral part and partner with the Virginia Tech Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation that supports graduate research and education.
