The West Virginia Unit is comprised of Dr. Pat Mazik, Unit Leader, Dr. Stuart Welsh, Assistant Unit Leader - Fisheries, Dr. Petra Wood, Assistant Unit Leader - Wildlife and Becky Nestor, Administrative Secretary.
Drs. Mazik, Welsh and Wood hold graduate faculty rank at WVU, teach graduate level courses and oversee the Unit's research projects. Research projects typically support graduate students and post-docs and address a wide variety of topics. Research funds for the West Virginia Unit typically come from USGS, USFWS and WVDNR.
The West Virginia Unit is housed in Percival Hall within the Division of Forestry and Natural Resources, Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences. The Unit is located on Evansdale Campus of WVU.

Dr. Mazik received her BS from the University of Mount Union, MS from Univ. of Texas at San Marcos and PhD from the University of Memphis. She has been at the Coop Unit since 1998.
