The Hawaii Cooperative Fishery Unit, an adjunct of the Department of Marine Science, is active in graduate training and research in the field of sport fisheries. It is sponsored by the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources, , the University of Hawai'i system, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service . Facilities include a small laboratory, field equipment, vehicles and small craft.
