Using Qualitative Knowledge of Life History Traits to Predict Taxon Group Response to Levels of Coarse Woody Debris

Narrative

This project addresses how to utilize various qualitative and disparate sources of information to develop a reliable predictive framework for specific management actions or practices. For example, ecologists may be asked for their expert opinion on how species respond to the experimental addition or removal of coarse woody debris in a forest. There is a need to impose a more rigorous and objective approach that may be achieved through the applications of techniques from social science and statistics.
