Cerulean Warbler and Associated Species Response to Silvicultural Prescriptions in the Central Appalachian Region

Duration

August 2012 - December 2018

Narrative

Our study expands on the "Cerulean Warbler Management Guidelines for Enhancing Breeding Habitat in Appalachian Hardwood Forests" by studying operational silviculture under a broad set of conditions and harvest types. Four states in the central Appalachians conducted timber harvests that incorporated the recommendations of the guidelines. This project is testing the response of cerulean warbler and associated avian species and will determine if revisions are needed to the guidelines. Partners include the AMJV and state agencies in WV, VA, PA, and KY..
