Biomarkers of endocrine and reproductive disruption in fish of Lake Mead and the Colorado River

Narrative

This project addresses the endocrine and reproductive condition of fish in the Lake Mead ecosystem and is part of an overall study of the environmental health of the lake. Sampling will be conducted in multiple sites over a period of 1 year. In addition to standard morphometric measurements, reproductive endpoints will also be measured and include plasma sex steroid and vitellogenin concentration. Results obtained will be analyzed in the context of the presence and concentrations of environmental contaminants.
