Feasibility Study for Native Fish Establishment in McKittrick Creek, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas

The goal of the proposed work will be to determine whether a self-sustaining population of Rio Grande cutthroat trout as well as other native fishes (e.g., Rio Grande chub Gila pandora and rainwater killifish Lucania parva) can be supported in McKittrick Creek, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas. To accomplish this goal, a suite of biotic and abiotic information gaps must to be filled. The objectives of this effort will be to characterize fish and aquatic macroinvertebrate communities, document amphibian occurrence, and describe spatial and temporal changes in physical stream habitat and water quality throughout the McKittrick drainage.
