Training Offered

  • Standardize sampling...a workshop on the importance of standardized sampling to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks employees. (Christopher Guy May 2014)
  • As Chair of the Montana State University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, I train all members of the Committee in animal care and use regulations and practices annually. In addition, all new MSU animal research PIs and students are trained on these issues monthly in a required orientation session, but the training is primarily extended by the IACUC administrative staff. I fill in for them 2 or 3 times per year as needed. (Alexander Zale June 2017)
  • I conduct diversity training for almost all faculty search committees and promotion and tenure committees at Montana State University. The training is described in Smith et al. 2015 (doi: 10.1093/biosci/biv138). About 15 such committees, each made up of about 5 members, are trained per year. (Alexander Zale May 2017)
  • Structured Decision Making Workshop held at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Montana Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (Alexander Zale, Christopher Guy, Mike Mitchell February 2010)
  • Sample design and standardization, invited to present a module for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Flatwater Training Workshop, Canyon Ferry Learning Center. (Christopher Guy June 2009)
  • Size structure, condition, and catch per unit effort (Christopher Guy December 2006)
  • Motorboat Operator's Certification Course (MOCC), U.S. Department of the Interior (Alexander Zale August 2001)
