Schuyler Pearman-Gillman

Elias with one of his camera traps used to survey wildlife in and around South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. In the absence of adequate trees and shade near the target animal track, lashing a quadrapod out of coarse woody debris and shading with a chunk of elephant dung will do the trick.

Elias Rosenblatt

Elias received his B.Sc. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Vermont in 2010. Upon graduating, Elias began working as a carnivore ecologist in Zambia, where he began to focus on better understanding human impacts on carnivore populations. He received his M.Sc. in 2016 from Montana State University, with his research focused on assessing the status and future of key Zambian lion and leopard populations. Elias is now working on his Ph.D. to develop an Ecosystem Scorecard for the Northeast Region using hunter-harvested wildlife as indicators of change in ecosystem health and services.
